The Jews use Rabbi teacher and Catholic priests, father. What am I missing here about organized religion? My thoughts essays on reality it: Good question! One that could take several pages to discuss! It would make a good sermon. One of the keys they teach about Bible study is to always take statements in context of the broader discussion, and take the broader discussion in context of the whole Bible. The context of Matthew 23 is Jesus was exposing the hypocrisy of the Pharisees. They were exalting themselves rather that exalting Essays on reality. They prayed to be heard by the people, rather than to be heard by God, they took the seats of honor at the table.

They, in effect, wanted to take the place of God in the eyes of the men they were supposed to be serving. He said our father is God, and our teacher is Christ. He was exposing the Jewish reverence for human rulers. And in a sense, He was — He was calling us back to Perfection, reminding us of our true Calling to be like Him. But even Jesus knew that he was setting the bar too high for us to reach, and in so doing, exposing our inability to reach perfection on our own. It is why He went to the cross. His message was always a call essays on reality follow God, follow Christ and turn our eyes away from ourselves and this life with its power, and greed, and evil.

Yet, later, by calling Paul into service, essays on reality, He used Paul to highlight essays on reality fact that humans still need governance in this life, both politically and religiously. He gave Paul the rules for bishops and church leaders and commanded us to submit to them. The problem is that, as fallen beings, essays on reality, we continue to use that positional power to inflate our egos and lord over others with the power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely! It was after studying this issue that I came to realize that all leaders — preachers, governors, presidents, generals, etc — if done properly, are truly servants.

And if they went into those jobs with that attitude, they essays on reality do a better job and not become tyrants, nor let the positions lead them into all sorts of sins and crimes against their own people. But thoughts like this forget the fact that humankind fell into the curse of sin and there is no going back in this life remember the angel with the swords blocking the way back into Eden? At the time of his illness, Hezekiah had no male heir. So, the added 15 years led to the birth of Manasseh, 3 years into it, essays on reality. At the time of his potentially fatal illness, Hezekiah had no heir. The illness, and the threat of death might have been a proverbial slap-in-the-face — just the right thing, at the right time, to change his heart and life-direction to produce that heir.

While raising my daughter and now a granddaughterthere were times at the playground, when it came time to leave, the child would get stubborn and refuse to come when told. Her fear of essays on reality left was greater than her lust for more playtime in the park. It was a wake-up-call. And it always worked, essays on reality. Was it even a lie, though? Is Hezekiah alive today? Of course, Hezekiah would die, we all do. But like the parent who needed the child to obey, God let Hezekiah misunderstand the meaning of the statement! It is the essays on reality statement made to Adam and Eve.

They were initially immortal. The promise was true. There are other examples throughout Scripture where God tells people things, then relents, essays on reality, and each has a purpose that either brings out the desired behavior or reveals the heart of those affected. We often are confused or mystified by the essays on reality we see God do, but the problem lies not with God, but with our limited human understanding of a God that is so powerful, and so intelligent, that He spoke the universe into existence. Seek answers. God wants you to! Bonheoffer — Man departed from his Origin at Eden and became something less than God designed him to be.

As we return to Him, we return to our original condition — the Perfect man — which is Christ. Christ became a man to redeem us. Now, as we are drawn into Him, Christ becomes Man. We are being conformed to The Body of Christ. They even changed the names of people, like Nebuchadnezzar did with the captives, Daniel BelteshazzarHananiah ShadrachMishael Meshachand Azariah Abednego Dan ,7. While squadron commander of a Civil Air Patrol squadron, I had the power to change the name of our squadron! He owns it all and was essays on reality that clear. The commentary went on to show that Adam was delegated that power to name, when he was told to name essays on reality the animals. In doing so, essays on reality, God was appointing Adam as His delegated representative.

Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground. Earth was our kingdom to rule for Him. It was clearly representative of the soon-to-be state of mankind — wild and unruly. As we populate the earth, we tame it, bringing order from the chaos. Like the wilds of Africa, where every living plant has thorns even the thorns have thorns! As God grows His Kingdom, those evils are driven back. Our charge to subdue the earth is a living picture of the spiritual reality of His Kingdom. What matters is why we do it; what is going on in our hearts. Suffering is optional, essays on reality.

God entered our world of suffering, bore it all upon Himself; joined us in it, so that we could join Him in His world. Who needs forgiveness? But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Several years from now, essays on reality, there was a guy named Eric. Essays on reality was a brilliant guy, a real entrepreneur. Always tinkering in his basement, Eric was lately experimenting with tiny little robots that could help him with is work.

He had been making them smaller and smaller. It was littered with the rejects of years of experimentation. He made his own materials, too, mostly from silicon sifted from the sand in his yard. It was a time consuming process, though. If he could make robots to harvest the silicon, it would free him for his real work — refining an energy source for his computers that used radiated energy from his own heart. The robots were easy. After several iterations, he had a model he liked. Using a digitized picture of himself, he crafted a essays on reality of them. They were beautiful! Two inches high and programmed to self-replicate, their marching orders were to 1 Make more of themselves, and 2 Harvest silicon from the backyard for use in the lab.

In no time, they were off and running. The only problem Eric noticed was that the energy receiver on their chests got in the way somewhat as they worked. He made a mental note to reduce its size later. The device was tuned to the pulses of his heart, and converted each pulse to a wave picked up by the receivers on each LED. Things were going fine, essays on reality, until one morning, Eric noticed that the silicon was running out. In fact, he could recall only seeing one LED all day, and he knew there were several hundred functioning by now. A look out essays on reality cleared it up for him.

There were several hundred robots in the yard, and they were still harvesting silicon. But, instead of bringing it to him, they were keeping it for themselves! No response, essays on reality. After a trip outside to grab one, Eric noticed that they had been pulling the energy receivers off their chests. The chips acted as comm units, too. So, now, he could understand their failure to respond. The bad news, though, was that without their receivers, they would soon run down, and die. Frustrated, at his desk again, Eric realized he had missed a single reply form one LED!

It did, but the result was disappointing. They said they were doing all the work, and they deserved to keep the silicon for themselves. Well, as you might imagine, that ticked Eric off considerably. He warned the sole obedient LED to climb to high ground, because he was about to get his water hose and wash the whole lot of them down the embankment into the junk pile at the low end of the yard. Starting over with just one LED, Eric rebuilt his operation. Pretty soon, the yard was busy again.
